Bank of America is closing more than 100 branches in the U.S. by the end of this year, including one location in New Jersey.
The bank, with its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, has already closed 95 branches this year and plans to close 15 more by the end of 2023.
Bank of America plans to close up to 134 branches by 2024, showing that the bank is looking to decrease their retail banking footprint.
The trend of closing down physical bank branches has been going on since 2010 and has accelerated since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused labor shortages and decreased foot traffic.
Although Bank of America is closing down physical branches, it is trying to meet customer demand for online banking options.
